A Division of Addiction Recovery Ministries
For over a decade, addiction recovery has been a recognized need in our communities by Law Enforcement, CPS, Court Systems and our churches. As an answer to that problem, Addiction Recovery Ministries – ARMS – was formulated by a group of pastors who had a passion for this discipline. Over the years, the success of this program began to be recognized, but something else became apparent; most of the clients had very poor life skills.
As the need became apparent, in a particular discipline, classes were developed to instruct in those life skills. It seemed the more development, the more need was revealed. Without it being actively recognized, the classes became a complete system of “Life Recovery.” It became obvious that getting free of addictions was not recovery of life skills, so CPS and the court system has begun to require their clients to attend various combinations of the CLASSES being offered.
After a meeting with the chief officer of probation, it was decided to make this a recognized division of ARMS; and to further develop additional materials as needed by the various agencies that have recognized these classes. This has greatly lessened the number of “re-entries”.
There has been an additional need for a life recovery residence for women. Residency programs are a six month to one year program that incorporates all the classes and recovery disciplines, plus helps them get gainful employment and transportation. The Women’s Center is currently under construction.
The board of Directors, consisting of three pastors and four specialists in their various areas of expertise in law enforcement, medical field and child protection, approves all material taught in these classes. Please check out our Classes Page for more information.
