The Following is the testimony of a 22 year old mother of a 2 year old and a 1 year old children. Her name is Silké Stolzenberrger.
“I started using Marijuana around the age of 15. At first it was only for fun. Then it slowly became an addiction. I felt like I couldn’t make it through the say without it. It wasn’t until recently that I quit. I knew it was something that had to be done. I had hit rock bottom and had lost everything, including my children. I was referred to A.R.M., and it turns out I really enjoy it. It has helped me open up and give my life to God, and also to see that I don’t need drugs to make me happy. It’s truly a good experience and very educational. I believe the new Women’s Shelter is a great idea and I believe it’s something that would be very beneficial for me.”
The next testimony is from, James Honeycutt.
“…I remember a story that I wrote in 1972 about the eagle and the ant. I was flying a door gunner out of L2 X-Ray, my first time to face the enemy. We flew over a rice patty and passed over this one old man who took his old, Chinese rifle out and shot at us. Over the microphone, my pilot yelled “Shoot him!” I thought, how brave of this man, like the ant was trying to bring us, the eagle, down.
I chose not to kill. I thought he couldn’t harm me, he’s just an ant; I am an Eagle! My pilot made another pass and repeated, “Kill the b#$t$#d!” On the third pass, my pilot said, “If he kills me, he kills you!” I put the ant to rest. In my mind I thought, “How brave this old man, an ant, was.” He was not afraid of the Eagle, but this Eagle was relentless.
I am still the Ant, but thanks to the men, in particular Doug Manley and Dave Johns, and our Pastor Ted Oliver, this little ant now has teeth. I cannot relate the amount of gratitude and respect I have for them. It is now the time in my life to go forth and move on.
My heart goes out to this program and the men who have given me the tools and the teeth to face the eagle. Will the Eagle win this battle, or will I the little ant? My God only knows. Thanks to all those who have given me strength in my weakness; insight in my darkness. I am not afraid of this eagle or this battle!…
These are only some, of many testimonies of how this organization has helped people recover their lives, their hope and assisted them in being free from poverty and addiction.
